a peek in to my world
The Art of Stone Sourcing
When it comes to creating bespoke jewellery, the journey often begins with the stones. Whether it’s a diamond with fire and brilliance or a gemstone with vivid rich colour, sourcing stones is one of my favourite parts of the process. It’s a hunt for the perfect piece —sometimes a single, striking centre stone, other times a collection of gems that will sit beautifully together.
I still feel like a kid in a candy store when I visit gemstone dealers, eyes scanning through trays of sparkling treasures, searching for one special stone that fits the vision. There's something magical about holding a gem in your hands and knowing it’s the missing puzzle piece to a unique and personal design.
My Trusted Stone Suppliers
Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with a trusted network of gemstone and diamond dealers. Some specialise in antique or unusual cuts, while others focus on ethically sourced stones, sapphires, or other coloured gems. Each supplier brings something unique to the table, and knowing exactly where to go for a specific look or quality is a skill in itself.
These relationships provide access to a stunning range of stones—sometimes rare, sometimes unexpected and always completely unique—and allow me to offer my clients something truly special. I have accounts with my dealers, allowing me to borrow stones so clients can get a true feel in person before a final decision is made. This means you’re not just choosing from a photo or a list of specifications—you get to see, hold, and compare the gems, so you can select the perfect one for your bespoke piece.
Finding Your Perfect Stone
Every stone tells a story, and choosing the right one is a process of discovery. Whether you already have a particular gem in mind or need guidance on what would work best for your design, I’m here to help. Some clients fall in love with a stone the moment they see it, while others enjoy exploring a curated selection before finding “the one.”
The beauty of bespoke jewellery is that no two pieces—or stones—are ever the same. Each project starts with a vision, and sourcing the perfect gemstone is the first step in bringing that vision to life.
